General Liability

We have a large general liability practice, which includes the defense of insurance companies, individuals, corporations and municipalities in a variety of civil actions involving trucking and motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, premises liability claims, dram shop liability, and federal civil rights claims. These actions often involve claims for wrongful death, serious personal injury and substantial property damage.

Workers’ Compensation

We provide our clients with a comprehensive defense of workers’ compensation claims. Furthermore, we provide counsel to our clients in all areas, including medical benefits, wage loss benefits and risk management. As the legislature has amended the Workers’ Compensation Act in recent years, we have kept our clients abreast of these changes with a view toward reducing overall workers’ compensation costs and aggressively defending fraudulent claims.

Insurance Coverage

Our firm is regularly retained to provide comprehensive insurance coverage opinions, including the interpretation of both personal and commercial automobile and general liability policies. We regularly litigate declaratory judgment actions involving insurance coverage issues in both state and federal courts.

Bad Faith Litigation

Since the enactment of Pennsylvania's Bad Faith Statute in 1990, our firm has played a leading role in defending insurance companies against claims for bad faith. We regularly counsel insurance companies and risk managers on claims handling practices and procedures.

Motor Vehicle Litigation

Our firm has a large motor vehicle litigation practice, which includes the defense of third party, first party, UM/UIM and property damage claims.

Premises Liability

Our premises liability practice includes the defense of individual and commercial property owners. We represent homeowners, restaurants, liquor licensees, shopping malls and other commercial establishments in actions arising out of slip and falls, liquor liability and inadequate security.

Product Liability

We defend large and small manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the full spectrum of product liability claims. These actions include claims for wrongful death, personal injury, environmental and commercial losses. The products involved include manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, household products and recreational equipment.

Commercial Litigation

We provide an aggressive defense in all aspects of commercial litigation. Our firm has successfully defended actions involving patent infringement, tortious interference with contractual relations, sexual harassment, age discrimination and construction litigation claims.
